Dr. Lori Candela brings to ATI Nursing clients a passion for best educational practices and a broad teaching background in classroom, clinical, lab and online environments. She has 22 years of experience as a nurse educator in associate, baccalaureate, RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD programs, and has served in various academic leadership positions. Dr. Candela also offers a broad research background and expertise within education areas related to student, nurse faculty, nursing, staff, and patient education, teaching and learning methodologies, and evaluation. She has authored numerous articles in referred journals as well as five book chapters. Among her accomplishments, she was the recipient of over half-a-million dollars in funding from HRSA for a three-year, collaborative grant to Enhance Access and Quality in Online PhD Nursing Programs, research that has greatly enhanced the skills she offers ATI clients. Over the years, Dr. Candela has presented numerous times at local, state, regional, national, and international nursing conferences, and has been honored with an award as Master Presenter from the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development in Austin, Tex. She also recently received a university award for outstanding online teaching. Dr. Candela’s passion for best educational practices to support teaching and learning, curriculum development and evaluation, has drawn her toward consulting to assist others as they continue to develop and refine their nursing programs.
